Friday {3/21/14}

WOOHOO it’s finally Friday! It is gorgeous outside and tomorrow is supposed to be more amazing weather so I’m looking forward to spending some time outside! Before we get the weekend started, I wanted to share a few highlights from our week –

ONE. On Tuesday morning, we had ice! It was extra unfriendly after the teaser of warm weather that we had on Saturday. The ice itself wasn’t really a highlight of the week, but it was beautiful and getting to work from home snuggled up with Trixie was a nice upside! 🙂

TWO. I finished repainting our bathroom cabinets last weekend! I’m glad we did this before we moved on to the kitchen cabinets because we changed our minds on the color – it’s great for the bathroom but too blue for the kitchen. I learned that covering up the oil-based paint with latex paint wasn’t as hard as I thought so now I’m stoked to get started on the kitchen!

THREE. I got to post on Wednesday about some lessons that I learned when I turned something left at the dumpster into an ottoman. *Hint: I’m really honest about what I messed up and what I’d recommend others do differently.*

FOUR. Matt and I had a conversation last night where I was blown away by his consideration and thoughtfulness. I don’t want to go into detail, but it would have been easy for him to focus on what he wants and needs and instead he took the time to consider how the decisions would impact me and our relationship. I’m so thankful for such a thoughtful and caring husband!

FIVE. After several very hectic weekends, we’ve had two weekends at home (this will be the third) and I am savoring the relaxation. I’ve been trying to get in a better rhythm – reading more and watching less TV, eating at home more, working out more, praying more, etc. It’s a struggle and there are ups and downs but overall I’m thankful for the rhythm that I’ve settled into the last few weeks. I’m thankful that I’ve taken more time to read and relax, even if that means that I’ve published a few less blog posts than I would have hoped. Thank you for being patient with me as I learn to be patient with myself.

BONUS. This face –

Do you have fun plans for the weekend? I hope that it’s wonderful!
