I’m participating in The Nester’s 31 Days Challenge, so for the month of October I’ll be writing each day about 31 Days of Christmas: plan a little now to enjoy it more later. You can see all of the posts here.
Hey y’all! I feel like my last few posts have been pretty long, so I’m going to keep today’s short and sweet.
As you start thinking about the activities that lay before you over the next few months, don’t forget about non-Christmas events. While it’s easy to get focused on celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s, keep in mind that there are still special events like birthdays and anniversaries in November and December! It would just take a few minutes to add them to your calendar but I’m sure it means a lot to the family, friends, coworkers, etc. whose birthdays sometimes get lost in the shuffle. I actually have two coworkers with birthdays on Christmas Day and I really want to remember to wish them a Happy Birthday and not just a Merry Christmas!
I keep a list of birthdays and anniversaries in a Google spreadsheet (like my address list – sound familiar?). I used Facebook as a starting point for building the list and I now add to it as I
miss birthdays I should remember find out new friends’ birthdays. Once a month or so, I look at what events are coming up and add a reminder to my to do list (which is also in a Google spreadsheet – do I have a problem?).
There you go – a short and sweet reminder to not overlook non-Christmas events over the next few months!
How do you keep track of important dates like birthdays and anniversaries?
