High Five for Friday (10/4)

Happy Friday y’all!

How has your week been? Ours has been great and has gone by pretty quickly! I’m in a busy time at work but thankfully it hasn’t been as hectic as I was anticipating. But anyway, let’s get down to business… here are five of my favorite things from this last week –

ONE. My brother was in town for a wedding last weekend and it was so good to get to spend time with him! 🙂 We didn’t do anything exciting while he was here but it was still so good just to hang out together! On Saturday I made enchiladas and apple pie, which he declared one of the top 10 desserts he’d ever had! I posted the recipe for this apple pie today!

TWO. I’m participating in The Nester’s 31 Days Challenge, so for the month of October I’ll be writing each day about 31 Days of Christmas: plan a little now to enjoy it more later. You can see all of the posts here.

THREE. This week I’ve been overwhelmed by how wonderful Matt is. I can hardly believe that I get to be married to such an amazing guy. He helped me proofread the posts that I did for the 31 challenge and he has been incredibly sweet to me, especially as I’ve been busy at work. Matt is truly my (unspoken) absolute favorite every week, but I just had to say, though, that when I think back on the last week, Matt blows me away. And after I had this post drafted, Matt brought Starbucks to me on his way into work. He is incredible!

FOUR.  On Wednesday my copy of A Million Little Ways came in the mail. I am SO excited to read this! I am always blown away by Emily Freeman’s writing and I love reading her blog every day. When we got home from small group on Wednesday night I had to force myself to stop after reading the first chapter because I knew I could sit curled up on the couch with it all night…

Here’s a video about the book… it gives me chills every time –

FIVE. I’ve been praying about where and how I should serve at our church, and finally this last week I decided for sure to work with the kids! Matt and I prayed about it and I am so confident that this is the right fit for me! I’ve been emailing with the director of that program and she is incredibly sweet. I am SO excited! 🙂

Have a fabulous weekend! 🙂 Check out the Christmas posts or some of the other bloggers involved in the 31 challenge if you get a chance.
